Scions new Innovation Hub in Rotorua has been designed to showcase the latest in engineered timber products and manufacturing techniques within its unique and challenging structural form while using products that meet the clients preferences for sustainability and environmental performance. It has 455m3 of structural wood, and stores 418 tonnes of CO2-e! Fluid completed the Hydraulic Shop Drawings in alignment with our mates at Tauranga Plumbing and Hardware.
In due course, the ground floor will be open to the public and showcase not only the innovative structure, but also Scion’s research across the forest and biomass value chains. The predominant feature of this three-storey building will be the timber components constructed with painstaking precision and assembled into diagonal grids – see featured, the timber diagrid with central atrium and wrap-around diagonal curtainwall cladding – Makes for a very interesting and unique build.
Construction is expected to be completed by early 2021.
